The consumer electronics market is set for a strong period of growth
with many new stores opening amid a revival after a downturn, industry
insiders forecast.
About 582,000 tablets were sold in Viet Nam in the first five months of
the year, registering a 34 per cent year-on-year increase, GfK market
research agency said.
With a population of more than 90 million, Viet Nam is an attractive
market for domestic and foreign producers and distributors of electronic
products, but many companies continue to ignore consumer rights'' laws,
according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Viet Nam has become the region''s fastest-growing market for smartphones
due to customer upgrades from basic mobilephones to smartphones,
according to experts and traders.
